Khimki Forest itfr

Is Russia changing?  In the days prior to the elections of the 8th of December 2011, none of the analysts, whose eyes were fixed on the largest country in the world, would have predicted that its citizens would have rebelled, against a government which, a few personnel changes aside, had held power comfortably since March 2000. Was this reawakening a real surprise? With this dossier, Mapping the World explores the ongoing struggle in defence of Khimki forest, close to Moscow. This is a story of opposition and resistance, and one of the main catalyst of recent citizens’ protests and uprising.
